ABOUT YOUR BRAIN

Your brain is a precision instrument

Looking After your Brain

Your brain functions well when you follow the right diet, get enough exercise, drink enough water and get enough sleep. See Think Brain Health from the Alzheimer's Research UK for more tips on keeping your brain in good health.

Meet your Brain

The brain sends and receives chemical and electrical signals throughout the body. Different signals control different processes, and your brain interprets each. Some make you feel tired, for example, while others make you feel pain.

Managing Stress

Stress is our body’s response to pressure. Many different situations or life events can cause stress. It is often triggered when we experience something new, unexpected or that threatens our sense of self, or when we feel we have little control over a situation.

Your Memory

Memory refers to the processes that are used to acquire, store, retain, and later retrieve information. There are three major processes involved in memory: encoding, storage, and retrieval.
